I have worked with Shayne for about 6 months. Shayne is a top guy who takes his work seriously but still can have a laugh with him, I can tell he genuinely cares about making progress while working with me and always makes sure we have achieved what we set out to do at the start of the session regardless of the time. Any issue I’ve had from football after a game or a hard week of training we would do tests and work out what the root cause of the problem is. Then set a programme to help or prevent this in the future. He has given me exercises/ stretches and knowledge that I’ve never had before and I have been in academy and professional football for over 10 years. Movement is the main thing we have worked on to help injury prevention and get my body functioning in the most efficient way possible with no wasted energy. He gave a daily movement programme and a cv programme to fit into my routine when is suitable for me. He also gives me advice on my diet and anything I asked him about he’d be happy to help with. I would 100% recommend Shayne as a coach. I don’t think there’s many people at the moment with the knowledge that he has about the type of work that is critical for sports. Most other coach’s I’ve came across are just stuck in the mindset of getting muscles strong and that’s it. Yes, it’s good to have strong muscles but they must be functional in different positions and be working together to make you the best you can be for your specific sport.

I’ve worked with Shane over the past 2 months during preseason. He was new to our culture and environment, but he fitted in straight away. I was aware of his work with the academy players, so it was great to have him for the time we did. He’s an amazing person, one of nicest guys I’ve ever met. Particularly he knows how to reach out to different personalities and provide different learning techniques for each person. Uses both demonstrations and drawings, as well as making exercises in the gym relatable to the pitch. They are always engaging. He’s dedicated to his job and always goes the extra mile to ensure you’re at 100% when out on the pitch. He’ll take time out to target personal weaknesses and provide exercises to strengthen the area, and this won’t be forgotten- he’ll make sure the targets are being reached weekly. With Shayne fitting into our team, he was very welcoming, and we loved having him apart of us. He’s friendly and has a good sense of humour but we as team had that relationship that when in the gym it was time to focus. He’s a great character to have around the group. Personally, I’ve never liked gym, he made it so fun and engaging. It wasn’t about going through the motions and getting it done but about getting a high intensity hit with exciting exercises. Everything in the gym was mirrored on the field- which helped me massively because I could see the benefits. I’m quite a loud and jokey character but we created the level of respect of work vs fun. I highly recommend him as a coach.

I have worked with Shayne since the age of 12 (7 years), from the very beginning he has helped me immensely. Not only on the pitch but off the pitch as well.
